As a Yarra Valley wedding photographer I've had the pleasure of working with many of the best wedding videographers in Victoria, so I thought it would be helpful to compile a list of recommendations!
Although personally I always love working with new people, there is definitely a MASSIVE upside to booking vendors who already know each other. Sometimes there can be a clash is style and approach, which can impact your experience and the overall atmosphere of your wedding day. I'd like to emphasise that this is very rare, but ask any vendor and I'm sure they can tell you some horror stories.
The other benefit is that you're more likely to get the best possible product from both of them, as they already understand how to work around one another. There’s less awkwardness, less stepping in each other’s shots, better communication in general. Not to mention the VIBES are always better, the banter, the chemistry, it all helps to make sure your day is the fun and relaxed, rather than weird and uncomfortable.
At the end of the day, you want your photographer and videographer to feel like a team — not two separate vendors competing for space. While it's totally possible to have a great experience with a pair who haven't worked together before, there’s something special about a team that already has trust and chemistry.

I've had the pleasure of working with Jamie many times. He is such a chill and relaxed guy in all situations, which really helps to keep couples grounded and stress free. What's really cool is that his editing style varies to suit the couples he work with. Some are cinematic & nostaglic while others are upbeat & energetic. He doesn't work off a template, which means that the finished product will be unique and personal. He has a very candid approach and documents the day in a real and beautiful way. Tilly and I both worked for the same studio back in the day when we first came into the wedding industry. So needless to say we're very use to working together. She's a massive goofball and brings such a fun and excitable energy to the wedding day. If you want a hype-woman gassing you up the entire day, then Tilly is your girl! It's always a great day when we work together. Her videos are also incredible, I'd describe the style as editoral and romantic. So if thats your vibe definitely check her out!
SOLASTA WEDDINGS FILMS
Even before I started recommending Gareth from Solasta, I found that a lot of my couples organically found him. In fact one day I realised we were going to be shooting together more than I was going to be working with any other videographer that season, and we hadn't even met yet. I'd imagine that's because we have a similar approach and vibe. Gareth is really relaxed, calm and fun! He has a really warm personality and forms such a strong connection with his couples. DIRECTORS EDGE
If you've been researching videographers at all, especially in the Yarra Valley, chances are you've come across this unit. Glen (with one N) has got such a big personality and never ceases to have his couples laughing their heads off. I'm ashamed to say he's definitely a lot more witty than me in the jokes department, but that's exactly why he's so good to have there on your day. He makes couples feel so relaxed, like they're hanging out with a friend rather than a stranger. His films are cinematic and narrative driven, and just so god damn beautiful. Kimberly is quite possibly more excited about her couples weddings than even they are. Her vibes on the day are immaculate and I've never met someone with so much energy and passion for their craft.
