On a beautiful summer day, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Kate and Liam's intimate wedding at a private property in Gippsland. Fun fact about me, I actually grew up in the area so it was so special to be able travel back home to capture their wedding. Gippsland is a gorgeous part of Victoria, just east of Melbourne it's known for it's rolling green hills and beautiful beaches and lakes. It could be nostalgia talking, but honestly it's a dream location to photograph a wedding at.

An intimate Gippsland private property wedding

Kate and Liam planned a wholesome ceremony at Kate's childhood home, followed by a reception at the local balls club (Which is a very country thing to do)  Their family and friends loaded out wood benches, a speaker, and some flowers to a spot they had chosen under a beautiful old tree in the front yard. It was totally a pop-up wedding. No coordinators, no staff. Just their family coming together to create something special. One big emphasise on the day was their beautiful children who played such a big role. Sometimes it can be difficult to know how kids will cope with the stress and commotion of a wedding. But it being in such a familiar setting surrounded by loved ones, I guess they were able to stay relaxed and evidently have a very fun time.

Gippsland is a perfect place for a wedding, whether it's at epic venues such as Mewburn Park Homestead, The Grove Gippsland or just at a private property like Kate and Liam, you can't go wrong with this stunning region.
